Roomie Coordinator

Terms of Service

Effective 29/7/2026 · Applies to the Roomie Coordinator iOS app

Agreement to these terms

Roomie Coordinator is provided by [Provider Name] (“we,” “us,” or “our”), based in Oman. By downloading, accessing, or using the app, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and by our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.

Who can use the app

You must be at least 16 years old — or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, and at least 13 — and able to form a binding contract, to use Roomie Coordinator. By using the app, you confirm that you meet these requirements and that the information you give us is accurate.

Your account

To use most features you’ll create an account. You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your login credentials confidential and secure.
  • All activity that happens under your account.
  • The accuracy of the information you provide.

Let us know promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission. You may delete your account at any time from within the app.

The service

Roomie Coordinator helps a household of up to ten members coordinate day-to-day life. Depending on the version of the app, features may include chore scheduling (“the rotation”), a shared list of household supplies (“the stash”), a household activity feed (“the house feed”), expense splitting with settle-up, a shared calendar, to-dos, notes, and house rules.

We may add, change, or remove features over time, and we may set reasonable limits on use of the service to keep it running well for everyone.

Households and shared content

Roomie Coordinator is a shared, collaborative tool. When you create or join a household, the content you add — chores, supplies, activity, expenses, calendar events, to-dos, notes, and your name and assigned colour — becomes visible to the other members of that household and may be edited or removed by members according to how the feature works.

  • Only join or create a household with people you trust. We can’t control how other members use content shared within your household.
  • If you leave a household, content you contributed to the group’s shared records may remain visible to the remaining members, as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • You are responsible for interactions and arrangements among household members. Roomie Coordinator is a coordination tool, not a party to any agreement between roommates.

Expenses and settle-up

The expense features let you and your housemates record shared costs, choose how they’re split, and mark debts as settled. This is a record-keeping and calculation aid based entirely on the information you and your housemates enter.

Fees

Roomie Coordinator is currently free to download and use. If we introduce paid features, subscriptions, or in-app purchases in the future, the price and terms will be shown to you before you buy, and any purchase will be processed by Apple through the App Store under Apple’s terms. Additional terms may apply to those features and, where they conflict with these terms, the additional terms will govern that purchase.

Acceptable use

When using Roomie Coordinator, you agree not to:

  • Use the app for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these terms.
  • Harass, threaten, defame, or harm other household members or anyone else.
  • Upload or share content that is illegal, infringing, harmful, or that you don’t have the right to share.
  • Attempt to access accounts, households, or data that aren’t yours.
  • Interfere with, disrupt, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the app or its systems.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app, except to the extent the law permits.
  • Use automated means to scrape or collect data from the service.

Your content

You keep ownership of the content you create in the app. To operate the service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, sync, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing and improving Roomie Coordinator — including making it available to the other members of your household.

You are responsible for your content and confirm that you have the rights necessary to share it and that it doesn’t violate these terms or anyone else’s rights.

Our intellectual property

The app itself — including its software, design, look and feel, and the Roomie Coordinator name and branding (including feature names such as “the rotation,” “the stash,” and “the house feed”) — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, in accordance with these terms and the App Store’s usage rules. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

Third-party services

Roomie Coordinator relies on third-party services — including Google Firebase for authentication, storage, and sync, and Apple for distribution and sign-in. Your use of the app also involves those providers’ services, and their terms and privacy policies apply. We’re not responsible for third-party services, and we don’t control and aren’t liable for their acts or omissions.

Apple App Store terms

Because you obtain Roomie Coordinator through the Apple App Store, the following terms apply. In this section, “Apple” means Apple Inc. and its subsidiaries.

  • These terms are between you and us only, not Apple. We — not Apple — are solely responsible for the app and its content.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the app.
  • If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app.
  • We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product-liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer-protection or similar laws.
  • We, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling, and discharging any third-party claim that the app infringes that party’s intellectual property rights.
  • You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and, upon your acceptance, will have the right to enforce them against you.

Disclaimers

The app is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don’t warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, error-free, or free from data loss, or that it will meet your requirements. You use it at your own discretion and risk, and you are responsible for keeping your own copies of important information.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any consumer guarantee or protection that applies to you by law and cannot be excluded, including under the laws of the EU, the UK, and Australia.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the app. To the extent we are found liable, our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 50.

Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you. Where mandatory consumer law gives you rights that can’t be limited, those rights are not affected.

Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, losses, and reasonable expenses arising out of your misuse of the app, your violation of these terms, or your infringement of any third party’s rights.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using Roomie Coordinator and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, if we’re required to by law, or if we discontinue the app. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — such as content licenses you’ve granted, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law — will survive.

Changes to the service and these terms

We may update these terms as the app evolves or the law changes. When we make material changes, we’ll update the “Effective” date above and provide notice in the app or by other reasonable means. Your continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms. If you don’t agree, please stop using the app and delete your account.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Sultanate of Oman, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of the mandatory protections available to you under the law of your country of residence — including, where applicable, the right to bring proceedings in your local courts. We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve any concern directly.
